Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin
in Paris and live online from 2 to 8 May 2022

01/03/2022

The Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin invite you to discover their new programme in Paris from 2 to 8 May 2022, with free admission. This year's programme will be held in several venues: the Beaux-arts de Paris, the Louvre auditorium, the Centre Pompidou, the Galerie rue Française, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, and the Goethe-Institut. The public will be able to attend screenings – 90% of films in French, European and international premieres, cartes blanches, special screeningsthematic screenings –, performances, a VR programme, tow exhibitions panel discussions and a forum bringing together artists, researchers, art centre and museum directors, who will share their experience and their thoughts on the new audiovisual practices and their stakes.
Many highlights will punctuate this week. These include the first retrospective in France of short and medium-length films by Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Thailand), Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021, and a carte blanche to Dara Birnbaum (USA), the unmissable video pioneer who created the iconic "Technology/Transformation: Wonder Woman". Among the 118 works presented this year are recent or new works by Barba, George Drivas, Tamar Guimaraes, Salomé Lamas, Ariane Loze, Natacha Nisic, Laure Prouvost, John Smith, Zapruder, and many others.
The full list of artists and the detailed programme will be announced in early April 2022.
