Call for entries

The second part of the call for entries for the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin 2024-2025 is open until 25 April 2024. Submit a work to the main programme or to the Moving Image Art Prize.

Important: the call for entries (1st and 2nd part) currently open does not relate to the event to be held in Berlin in April 2024, but to the subsequent events in Paris in November 2024 and Berlin in April 2025.

Any individual or organization can submit one or several works. The call for entries is open to film, video and multimedia submissions, regardless of geographical origin. There is no restriction for length nor genre. Submitted works must be produced in 2022, 2023 or 2024, and must not yet have been publicly shown in Paris and Île-de-France Region.

2024-2025 call for entries
First part: until 15 February 2024
Second part: until 25 April 2024


If you have entered a submission in the first part of the call for entries, you do not need to re-enter it in the second part.

To submit your work, regardless of your country, you can choose between two types of registration. Please choose either one OR the other:
Registration to the main programme. Registration is free and can only be done via the 100% online entry form available on our website.
Registration to the Moving Image Art Prize. There is a registration fee. Registration can only be done on Filmfreeway website. An international jury will award the Prize with a grant at the event in Paris in 2023.

If you wish to submit a work to both the main programme and the Moving Image Art Prize, then you must only enter your submission to the Moving Image Art Prize. Submissions to the Moving Image Art Prize are considered for both the Moving Image Art Prize and the main programme.

Submissions to the main programme are free of charge.
The registration of a submission to the main programme is 100% online, it is done ONLY on our website. No email or postal submissions will be accepted. Material sent by email is not accepted.
Our website is mobile phone friendly, but our entry form is not yet (it will be soon!:). So, to fill in an entry form, we recommend that you use a laptop or desktop computer. So if you read this page from your mobile phone, please bookmark it and start your registration from a laptop or a desktop computer.
Before filling out the entry form, you must post the required material online: video + synopsis or presentation text + biography + filmography and/or exhibition list. In other words, your video must be uploaded onto a website (like Vimeo, Youtube, Dailymotion, or a personal web site) and your texts must be available on a web page. We strongly recommend using the online service offered by VIMEO www.vimeo.com it is free, it enables you to create an access password, it preserves the video resolution, and it offers a description section area where you can paste the required text material.
Once the required material (video + synopsis or presentation text + biography + filmography and/or exhibition list) is available online, please fill out the 100% online entry form. On the entry form, you will have to enter web links to the required material.
Schools, distributors, and production companies that would like to submit MORE THAN 10 SUBMISSIONS are not obliged to fill out the online entry form. This applies ONLY to schools, distributors, and production companies, ONLY if more than 10 works are submitted. Please contact us for further instructions.

MOVING IMAGE ART PRIZE
100% ONLINE REGISTRATION ON FILMFREEWAY

An international jury will award the prize with a grant of 20,000 € to one of the artists of the programme at the event in Paris in November 2024. The Moving Image Art Prize will award a work in the field of moving images.
Submission of a work to the Moving Image Art Prize can ONLY be made through the FilmFreeway.com/RIPB
To submit a work, a registration fee is required. This fee entitles you to a number of advantages which are detailed on our FilmFreeway page. Why is there a registration fee? The Moving Image Art Prize is participatory, the registration fee finances the grant.

IMPORTANT : artists whose work has been selected by the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin in the last five years, are exempted from the registration fee for submitting a work to the Moving Image Art Prize. Please contact us for further instructions.
IMPORTANT : to submit a work, you need to create a free account on FilmFreeway, then create a form for the work you wish to submit. It only takes a few minutes! Only fill in the information you wish to share about your submission. You will be able to upload a video file of your submission directly on FilmFreeway or provide a link to watch your video online (such as Vimeo, Youtube, or a personal website). When the form for the work you wish to submit is finalized, go to our FilmFreeway.com/RIPB page and click on the "Submit Now" button, then pay the registration fee on the payment page. Your submission will then be sent to us immediately.

About the decision notifications
Notifications of decision for both the main programme and the Moving Image Art Prize submissions, will be sent by email at the end of July 2024.
