 I : Climbing up the Great Wall (Ascension de la grande muraille). II : La vidéo "Pattern of Exile (Motif d'exil)" a été réalisée d'après les écrits de Joseph Hansen, ancien leader central du Parti Socialiste américain (membre de la 4ème internationale trotskiste). Sa thématique principale était la tentative de trouver une stratégie pour mener à bien la révolution socialiste en Amérique latine dans les années 70. III : Dans les oeuvres de Jo Hansen, certains mots sont remplacés par leurs antagonistes. Révolution. Pas de révolution. Exil.  I. Climbing up the Great Wall. II: Das Video "Pattern of exile" basiert auf Schriften von Joseph Hansen, einem ehemaligen Anführer der U.S.Socialist Workers Party (Mitglied der trotzkistischen 4. Internationale ). Die Hauptthematik seiner Schriften ist die Suche nach einer wirkungsvollen Strategie für eine sozialistische Revolution in Lateinamerika in den 70er Jahren: Einige der Begriffe aus Jo Hansens Schriften wurden durch ihr Gegenteil ersetzt. De 1973 à 1980, Il a fait des études de philosophie et de théologie à Munich. Il a également travaillé au sein de plusieurs troupes de théâtre avant-gardiste à Munich de 1978 à 1993. Parallèlement à ses activités théâtrales, il a entrepris de 1980 à 1982 une formation de montage vidéo. Il est ensuite devenu co-éditeur du magazine Fliegenpilz, poste qu'il a occupé de 1981 à 1982. Depuis 1987, il se consacre à la création de vidéos et performances. En 2002, il a commencer à s'adonner au mail art. Horst Bauer wurde 1954 in München geboren. Von 1973 bis 1989 studierte er dort Philosophie und Theologie. Von 1978 bis 1993 war er Mitglied mehrerer avantgardistischer Theatergruppen in München. Nach einer zweijährigen Ausbildung zum Verleger wird er 1981 Mitherausgeber der Zeitschrift Fliegenpilz. Seit 1987 widmet er sich der Schaffung von Videos und Performances und seit 2002 auch der Mail-Art. Horst Baur was born in 1954 in Münich, Germany. From 1973 to 1980, he studied philosophy and theology in Münich. He was also member of avantgarde theatre groups in Munich from 1978 to 1993. From 1980 to 1982 he studied video editing. He then worked as co-publisher of the magazine Fliegenpilz from 1981 to 1982. Since 1987 he has dedicated his work to create videos and performances.
