Lennaart van OLDENBORGH Untitled (Sex) Vidéo expérimentale - beta sp - couleur - 0:05:00 - Allemagne / Royaume Uni - 1995 Untitled (Sex) was conceived as part of my research into the malleability of facial identity. For a while I was considering various methods of disguise, and started photographing myself upside down. The effect of the inversion of gravity proved to be a fascinating one: features are distorted and facial veins swell up to resemble a bodybuilder's pump. But in a world that's upside-down, the gravitational pressures on the digestive track are also inverted, allowing for some confusion around the functions of certain orifices and bodily fluids. Biographie Lennaart van Oldenborgh was born and raised in a Dutch Reformed community just South of Rotterdam. He studied at Hampshire College in Massachussetts and now lives and works in London , keeping close ties with the Netherlands. In addition to video, van Oldenborgh has participated in numerous exhibitions , including photography and installation. His interest in politics translated itself into his involvement with cable television and publishing
