Rosa BARBA Cinorama Document vidéo d'installation cinéma - 35mm - couleur - 1:00:00 - Allemagne - 2000 Dans l'installation "cinorama", photographie et film interagissent selon le public. Dès que deux personnes sont dans la pièce, deux projecteurs pour film 35 mm se mettent en marche et deux films se succèdent. La projection se fait en boucle et évolue physiquement dans la pièce grâce à des rollers. Chaque bande montre une partie d'un panorama (la partie gauche et la partie droite). La projection des deux bandes n'est pas synchronisée et donc révèle constamment des associations fortuites de durée et d'espace de l'image. Si la salle se vide et qu'il reste moins de deux personnes, les projecteurs se coupent. Il reste possible pour le spectateur d'arrêter le flot d'images quand bon lui semble. L'image arrêtée, ou au moins un aspect de celle-ci, peut alors être observée. Les deux bobines concernent le portrait d'une ville la nuit. Les vues documentaires sont partagées avec des vues d'une scène concentrée sur cinq protagonistes. Chacun de ces protagonistes est accompagné par un son particulier. Si, dans le hasard du dispositif, les deux vues arrivaient à un point où elles seraient synchronisées, l'image obtenue prendrait valeur de panorama "parfait". In the installation "Cinorama", photography and film interact via the presence of people. As soon as more than two people enter the room, two 35mm film projectors start up and project two films next to one another. The film projection is visible as a loop as well as a being physically transported through the room on rollers. Each filmstrip shows one part (either the left or right hand side) of a panorama. The films are not synchronised in their projection rythm and therefore reveal constantly varying associations in terms of the time and content of the images. If most of the audience leaves the room and there are less the two viewers present, the projectors turn themselves off. It is possible for the spectator to stop the flow of images is then projected as a photograph and the spectator can observe it at leisure. Both parts of the films depict a portrait of a city at night. Documentary shots are interchanged with staged moments that concentrate entirely on five ptotagonists. Each protagonist is characterised by a particulary sound. If the two halves of the image sequence at any point play in sync to one another, the sound and picture compliment each other to produce a "perfect" panorama image. Biographie Rosa Barba est née en 1972. Elle étudie le théâtre et le cinéma à Erlangen - Nürenberg de 1993 à 1995. Elle travaille comme assistante de réalisation dans des théâtres et des sociétés de production. De 1995 à 2000, elle est étudiante à l' Academy of Media Arts de Cologne. Elle réalise des films en super-8 et en 16 mm, des installations vidéos et cinéma, des photographies. Elle participe à de nombreuses expositions, ainsi qu'à des festivals internationaux.
