At the crossroads of public and private spaces, an ideal space and a space manipulated by politics. Seungho Cho studies travel and metamorphosis, starting from images of people in the subway. Rob Todd studies objects, their texture and movement. Herman Asselberghs films Brussels. It is both a manifesto on cinema and the realisation of the ideological dead-end following 1968. Jérôme Schlomoff walks across villa K, which is under construction, in the region of Marrakech. Peter Downsbrough films the urban environments. The space becomes political, underlined by an arrangement which gives it its’ order. Niklas Goldbach watches an unfinished tower near Bangkok, which is part of the ghostly buildings resulting from the 1997 crisis. Paul Rowley and Tim Blue have rearranged images of a small American town, adding animated abstract figures and therefore offering a quantum architecture. Carlo Zanni recreates an image from a map of houses in a German village and from a horizon line in Naples filmed with a webcam. Pierre-Yves Clouin flies over New York, a song reminds of a distant cinematographic presence.

In limbo, there exists an intermediate place, with strange creatures. Serge Provorov films men falling, who just keep slumping down. Their descent becomes the theme of the film. Fiona Lindron follows a silhouette, then a woman’s face only illuminated by flashes. She becomes a captive figure. With Maider Fortuné, shadows of childhood creatures and heroes parade in front of us, in a timeless space. Patrick Jolley creates a space where objects fall down, being violently thrown off camera. Thomas Jennet shows a man announcing the first man who will give birth, a futuristic fable and a critic on representation. Tobias Yves Zintel creates the «Hell Hotel”, inhabited by a crowd of characters, whose words are quotes and fragments taken from advertisement, history and philosophy. Form and content are determined by repetition. Xenia Yvon Lesniewski shows an animated character, whose speech is erotic, obscene and terrified. Izebene Oñederra animates a creature, whose name, according to an idiomatic Basque word, designated socially invisible people.

From the hiring interview to the dismissal interview, from the old factory to the multinational company. Chelsea Knight infiltrates the offices of the United Nations, explores fantasies of power within bureaucracy, within an idealized institution. Alicia Framis walks across the building of a big bank, whose hundred employees are standing still, in a timeless space, congealed in their everyday work gestures. Gregg Smith films a hiring interview, led by a strange couple in a small provincial town. Karel de Cock observes three businessmen in the bar lobby of a big standardized hotel, the waiting and the uselessness, the drawback of success. Mariane Foltron stages a role play in which managers learn how to handle dismissal interviews, the art of circumlocution. Noëlle Pujol and Ludovic Burel film three persons in a factory from the post-industrial era. They have survived this era and each one of them is busy with pointless micro-tasks.
