Cette vidéo a été tournée dans le désert de Judée en Israël. Bizarrement, les véhicules préférés des Bédouins sont les Mercedes et les chameaux car, apparemment, ils peuvent tous les deux supporter la chaleur extrême et le soleil du désert pendant de longues heures. Dans le fond, la vidéo tient du bourdonnement entêté. Elle nous donne une image à voir et bourdonne tout autour. Le chameau traditionnel tient le rôle d'un moyen de locomotion à caractère industriel et commercial. Un panneau indicateur. L'œuvre est un symbole des traditions violées par le marketing d'entreprise. C'est une représentation de la commercialisation d'entreprise qui, au cours des dix dernières années, a envahi très rapidement la société israélienne. (Pour les touristes, le chameau symbolise souvent Israël et le Moyen Orient. Il est perçu comme une relique "exotique") L'œuvre montre, jusqu'à l'absurdité, le conflit entre un motif sublime (les chameaux libres dans la nature) et un monde réaliste, commercial et matérialiste qui pèse sur leurs épaules.

Dieses Video wurde in der Judan-Wüste in Israel aufgenommen. Seltsamerweise sind die beliebtesten Fahrzeuge der Beduine der Mercedes und das Kamel. Beide können offensichtlich die extreme Hitze und die langen Sonnenstunden der Wüste ertragen. Das Video ist, im Grunde genommen, wie eine eigensinnige Drohne. Es bietet ein Bild dar, und summt drum herum. Das Kamel stellt die Rolle eines industriellen, kommerziellem Fahrzeuges dar. Ein Wegweiser. Das Werk ist ein Symbol der Traditionen, von kollektivem Kommerz vergewaltigt. Es ist ein Bild der sehr schnellen kollektiven Vermarktung, die während den letzten zehn Jahren die Israelische Gesellschaft überschwommen hat. (Das Kamel ist für die Touristen oft ein Symbol für Israel und den Mittleren Orient.) Das Werk stellt, bis zur Absurdität, den Zusammenstoß zwischen einem sublimen Motiv (Kamele frei in der Natur) und einer realistischen, kommerziellen und materiellen Welt dar, die ihre Rücken belastet.

This video was taken in the Judanian Desert in Israel. Strangely enough, the beduins favorite vehicle is the mercedes and the camel. Both apparently can endeavor the extreme heat and long sun - hours spent in the desert. This video is like a one track drone basically. It suggests one image, and buzzes around it. The traditional camel takes on the role of an industrial commercial vehicle. A sign post. The work is a symbol of tradition raped by corporate marketing. An image for the rapid corporate commercialisation that has been sweeping Israeli society for the last decade. {The camel often symbolizes Israel and the middle east in the eyes of the tourist. It is often perceived as an "exotic" relic} The work suggests in absurdity the clash between a sublime theme (camels free in nature) to a realistic commercial material world burdening their backs.

Ran Slavin travaille depuis 1985 dans l'art multimédia visuel et acoustique. Il a tout d'abord appartenu à plusieurs groupes de musiciens et conçu des installations artistiques / plastiques, évoluant petit à petit vers des formes manipulées numériquement. Plus de sept de ses enregistrements sont sortis chez de grosses maisons de disques israéliennes ou chez de gros labels à renommée internationale comme Mille Plateaux ; il a aussi exposé dans de nombreuses foires locales et internationales. Les œuvres sonores et vidéo de Slavin se concentrent souvent sur des environnements non linéaires qui suggèrent plutôt une "aire" ou un "environnement" dans lequel des formes, des idées et des structures en évolution permanente apparaissent à différents niveaux, tout en restant interchangeables. Sa conception du son et de l'image est plutôt celle d'un architecte ou d'un scientifiques. Il construit des étages et des matrices compliquées pour relier entre eux les différents éléments. Les sons et les images de Slavin sont aussi l'expression d'un détournement délibéré des logiciels et des données vidéo. Il est à la fois video jockey et arrangeur, et recherche continuellement dans son travail de nouvelles façons d'explorer de nouveaux sons, images et techniques de manipulation de samples. Ran Slavin est né en 1967 à Jérusalem, Israël. Entre 1975 et 1978, il vit aux Etats-Unis, puis, de 1983 à 1986, à Londres. De 1986 à 1990, il étudie l'art à la Betsalel Art Academy. De 1990 à 2002, il travaille dans la postproduction et produit des vidéos et de la musique électronique abstraite.

Ran Slavin arbeitet seit 1985 mit visueller und akustischer Medienkunst. Er hat mit verschiedenen Bands und Plastik- Installationskunst angefangen, und sich nach und nach zu digital manipulierten Formen hin durchgearbeitet. Er ist mit mehr als 7 Tonausgaben bei verscheiden großen Israelischen Plattenverlagen erschienen, unter anderen auch bei leitenden internationalen Labels so wie Mille Plateaux, und hat weit verbreitet bei sowohl lokalen als auch internationalen Plattformen ausgestellt. Slavins Ton- und Videoarbeiten sind oft auf nicht-lineare Umgebungen fokussiert, welche eher ein "Areal" und eine "Umgebung" beschreiben, wo Formen, Ideen und sich ständig verändernde Strukturen auf verschieden Niveaus erscheinen können, und sich unter einander auswechseln. Seine Konzeption von Ton und Bild ist eher die eines Architekten oder eines Wissenschaftlers. Er baut Etagen und komplizierte Matrizen um die unterschiedlichen Ingredienzien mit einander zu verbinden. Slavins Töne und Bilder sind auch von einem absichtlichen Missbrauch von Computer Software und Video-Daten gefärbt. Als Vj und Tonbearbeiter behandelt er seine Werke auf ständiger Suche nach neuen Arten, Ton, Bild und neue Sample-Techniken zu erforschen. Ran Slavin ist 1967, in Jerusalem, Israel, geboren. Von 1975 bis 1978, lebt er in den USA. Zwischen 1983 und 1986, lebt er in London. Von 1986 bis 1990, studiert er Kunst an der "Betsalel Art Academy". Von 1990 bis 2002, arbeitet er mit Post-Produktion und gibt Videos und abstrakte elektronische Musik aus.

Ran Slavin has been working in visual and audio media arts since 1985, starting out in various bands and plastic /installation art and gradually descending into digital manipulated forms. He has released over 7 audio releases in some major Israeli labels including leading international electronic labels such as Mille Plateaux and has exhibited widely both in local and international platforms. Slavins sound and visual works often focuses on non linear surroundings, suggesting more of an "Area" and a "Surrounding" where forms, ideas and ever changing structures can occur on multiple platforms, interchanging. His approach to sound and image is more like that of an architect and a scientist. Building floors and installing intricate matrixes to interconnect the various greediants. Slavins sound and image also take on a deliberate misuse of computer software and video data. As a vj and as a sound manipulator, his works are continuously in search of new ways of exploring sound and imageand new techniques of sample manipulation. Ran Slavin was born in 1967 in Jerusalem, Israel. From 1975 to 1978, he lives in the USA. From 1983 to 1986, he lives in London. Between 1986 and 1990, he studies art at "betsalel art academy". From 1990 to 2002, he works in post production and releases videos and abstract electronic music.
