 "If art is a commodity" est une marque de résistance aux méthode d'évaluation basées sur le marketing qui passe par l'établissement d'une monnaie d'art originelle (Ptn, l'artiste en personne). Sans intervention sonore, l'animation d'un billet de banque vient entériner la métamorphose du Penseur de Rodin et le Frank Loyed Write du Guggenheim Museum de New York. La valeur du billet se modifie lentement à mesure que les lettres du slogan "Si l'art est un service, alors qu'il soit pécunier" se transforment au hasard en chiffres et en symboles mathématiques.  "If art is a commodity" ist ein Widerstand gegen marketingbasierte Auswertungsmethoden durch Ansatz einer einheimischen Kunstwährung. (Ptn, der Künstler selbst). Ohne Geräuschkulisse erzeugt die Animation einer Banknote eine Metamorphose zwischen Rodin's Denker und Frank Loyed Write's Guggenheim Museum in New York. Der Wert der Banknote ändert sich ständig, während die Buchstaben des Slogans "Wenn Kunst eine Ware ist, dann sei es Geld" sich willkürlich in Zahlen und mathematische Symbole verwandeln.  "If art is a commodity" is a resistance to marketing-based appraisal methods by establishing a self-referential native art currency (Ptn, the artist himself). In the absence of sound, an animation of a bank note registers a metamorphosis between Rodin's Thinker and Frank Loyed Write's Guggenheim Museum, Nyc. The note's value changes restfully as the slogan "If art is a commodity, then let it be money" randomly exchanges its letters for numbers and mathematical symbols. ___ Note biographique Petronio Bendito est un artiste et designer brésilien résidant aux Etats-Unis. Il enseigne le design des nouveaux médias à la School of Visual and Performing Arts de la Purdue University. Dans le cadre de ses séries "the art as commodity", Bendito a réalisé des spectacles publics "officieux" ("art as intrusion") dans des lieux tels que le Louvre et la Moca-La pendant la Rétrospective Andy Warhol. Les documents de ses spectacles sont disponibles sur petroniobendito.com. Bendito a également réalisé des expositions d'installations digitales aux Etats-Unis et au Brésil. Er unterrichtet neue Medien Design an der School of Visual and Performing Arts der Purdue University. Als Teil der Serie "the art as commodity" hat Bendito "inoffizielle" öffentliche Aufführungen kreiert ("art as intrusion") an Orten wie dem Louvre und dem Moca-La während der Andy Warhol Retrospektive.
