During this special weekend at the CA2M Dos de Mayo Art Center, the three filmed projects were screened continuously throughout the day. Invited artists:

After a 4 days workshop, in the presence of the group of participants, Esther Polak proposes a presentation of the accomplished research and work.

Conceptually the workshop will focus on the tension between "objective mapping" and subjective mapping" and how locative media relate to both. At this moment in time many possibilities of GPS data collection and visualization are available mapping becomes more and more personalized. Does mapping thus become a story telling tool for everybody? Now that we can easily combine GPS with other personal data such as photo, video or audio what does this bring? Will proposed geosophy of John K. Wright in his lucid 1946 article "Terrae Incognitae: The Place of Imagination in Geography" become true and available for everybody? If google maps becomes the standard of personalized mapping, how subjective it still can be? or do we need to design more flexible, software tools?

WJ-S is a software and a flexible public device for web performances allowing WJ-S (webjays, artists, web addicts and web mutants) to play live with text, sound and visual content available on line. WJs take the control of a multiscreens environment and surf at distance in different browser windows simultaneously. WJ-S is a visible and collective experience of the surf. WJS is an immersive experience in the flux.
