The Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin #4 took place in Paris from the 2d to the 16th of March 2001, at the movie Theater Entrepôt, the national academy of arts, the national academy of design, Cerise art centre.

The Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin #5 took place in Berlin from the 6th to the 17th of June 2001 at the Movie Theater Brotfabrik, at Aroma , at the Staatsbank Französische Strasse.

The programming gathered:

> 400 films and videos, from France, Germany and 50 other countries -short, middle and full lenght films-, fiction, documentary, experimental film, video art, experimental video, animation.
Among others, works by Alexandre Sokourov, Chantal Akerman, Serguey Dvortsevoy, Tatsumi Orimoto, Steina Vasulka, with works by young artists, film students, filmmakers shown for the first time.

> cartes blanches : at Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, Jean Rouch, Maria Klonaris and Katerina Thomadaki.

> an homage to Wolf Vostell, with a video retrospective

> performances, projection-performances.

> sound installations, video and multimedias installations.

> a multimedia programming, online works, CD-roms.

> a sound programming, sound poetry, sound works, concerts.

> a video library and a sound library .

> 20 invited organizations, independant spaces, collectives from France, Germand and international.
