Blanche Neige épisode 1 Experimental video | dv | color | 10'0'' | France | 2006 © Marc Domage "Blanche Neige Episode #1" is the first video realization independant of the "Blanche Neige" (Snow White) series. Several Snow Whites cross a landscape and the frame of the image. The "Blanche Neige" project was initiated in Paris in November 2002, and evolved into interventions and videos. The Snow Whites, through performances, conferences, and demonstrations multiply throughout the world. Snow White, a character from another world, sneaks into our own like a virus, invades a space, adapts it to its needs, and quickly leaves it. Snow White can be seen in a multitude of different spaces and situations, in the city or in the country, in an art gallery, on a boat, alone, in a group. Snow White is never exactly the same, but never totally different either. In this project, Catherine Bay interrogates our relation to the image. The project was presented in Paris, at the Brownstone Foundation and at the Cartier Foundation; in Milan at the Uovo Festival; in Moscow at the Kliazma Festival; in Rome during the Nuit Blanche; in Lausanne at the Arsenic Theatre; in Beaubourg at Vidéodanse; and at the Parc de la Villette. Les Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin have invited Catharine Bay to Podewil in Berlin and the Grande Halle de la Villette. The next intervention of the Snow Whites will be held at the Mac/val Museum on September 16, 2007. Le projet Blanche Neige a été initié à Paris en novembre 2002, et a évolué vers des interventions et des vidéos. Les Blanche Neige, au travers de performances, de conférences, de démonstrations, prolifèrent dans le monde, se multiplient. Blanche Neige, personnage d'un autre monde, se propage dans le nôtre comme un virus, envahit un espace, l'adapte à ses besoins, et le quitte rapidement. Blanche Neige peut être vue dans une multitude d'espaces et de situations différentes, en ville et à la campagne, dans une galerie d'art ou sur un navire seule ou en bataillon. Blanche Neige n'est jamais tout à fait la même, ni tout à fait une autre. Dans ce projet, Catherine Baÿ interroge avant tout notre relation à l'image. Le projet a été réalisé à Paris, à la Fondation Brownstone, à la Fondation Cartier, à Milan à l'Uovo festival, à Moscou au Kliazma festival, à Rome durant la Nuit Blanche de la ville, à Lausanne à l'Arsenic Théâtre, à Vidéodanse à Beaubourg, au Parc de la Villette dans le cadre du festival Pelouse autorisée. Les rencontres internationales Paris/Berlin ont invité Catherine Baÿ au Podewil à Berlin et à la Grande Halle de la Villette
